Gal Gadot is continuing to speak out about her experience Joss Whedon, sharing that the Justice League director made threats to derail her career during reshoots for the film, in which she played Wonder Woman.
“I had my issues with Joss, and I handled it,” Gadot said during an interview with Israeli outlet N12. “He threatened my career and said that if I do something, he will make sure my career is miserable and I took care of it on the spot.”
Gadot has not publicly shared any details about her clash with Whedon but a witness told The Hollywood Reporter of a conflict between the two that allegedly occurred when Gadot questioned some of the new lines added in the script.
“He told her he’s the writer and she’s going to shut up and say the lines and he can make her look incredibly stupid in this movie,” the insider claimed.
Gadot had previously alluded to having problems while working with Whedon, telling the Los Angeles Times that her experience with him “wasn’t the best.” Gadot’s comments came in the context of her voicing support for Ray Fisher, who played Cyborg in Justice League.
Last summer, Fisher publicly criticized Whedon for the way he treated the cast and crew during filming, accusing him of being “gross, abusive, unprofessional and completely unacceptable.”

Fisher’s comments caused Warner Bros. to launch an official investigation into Whedon’s alleged misconduct. The studio also investigated producers Geoff Johns and Jon Berg, whom Fisher accused of enabling Whedon’s behavior. Berg denied the accusations, saying that it was “categorically untrue that we enabled any unprofessional behavior.”
The investigation concluded in December, with Warner Bros. releasing little detail beyond saying that “remedial action has been taken.”
In February, Charisma Carpenter, who played Cordelia Chase on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, tweeted out her own accusations against Whedon. The 50-year-old said that Fisher’s statements “gutted” her, noting that Whedon has “a history of being casually cruel” to people he worked with while creating “hostile and toxic work environments.”
“Joss Whedon abused his power on numerous occasions while working together on the sets of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel,” she wrote of the shows’ creator. “The disturbing incidents triggered a chronic physical condition from which I still suffer. It is with a beating, heavy heart that I say I coped in isolation and, at times, destructively.”

Carpenter said that Whedon made “passive-aggressive threats” about firing her, as well as allegedly calling her “fat” when she was four months pregnant. After her public statement, Carpenter received public support from several of her former Buffy co-stars, including Sarah Michelle Gellar.
“While I am proud to have my name associated with Buffy Summers, I don’t want to be forever associated with Joss Whedon,” Gellar said on Instagram.
Despite the growing number of actors speaking out against his behavior on-set, Whedon has not admitted to any wrongdoing, as he’s denied some accusations made against him while declining to comment on others.
